greenROHINI is the San Fernando Valley hotspot boutique. The eco-chic store, located on Ventura Boulevard in the Sherman Oaks/Studio City area, offers all eco-friendly apparel & accessories for women and men. The clothing, shoes, handbags and jewelry here are made from one or more of the following materials: organic fabric, alternative/sustainable fabric (bamboo, hemp, soy, seacell), vegetable dyes, eco synthetics and microfibers, waterbased glues, vintage fabric, recycled or repurposed materials; and all items that are not locally made by the designers are fair trade and sweatshop free certified. greenROHINI features some of the hippest in eco fashions from Deborah Lindquist, Stewart+Brown, James Jeans, Linda Loudermilk, Clothing of the American Mind, Sublet, Aster Park, Wai-Ching, ok dreamer and Topo Ranch, just to name a few. The boutique has been built-out in accordance with LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) standards. The floors and fixtures were constructed from reclaimed wood, all finishes (paint/stains) are "no V.O.C." products and as many materials from the demo as possible have been recycled. The welcoming interiors are furnished with reused and reclaimed items. The furniture fabrics are organic cotton and sustainable blends. Water and energy conserving practices, as well as recycling practices are implemented in the store, and green office supplies and service providers with green business practices are used. For example, greenROHINI’s printer uses 100% recycled/100% post consumer waste/non-bleached papers, soy ink products, is 100% wind powered and is a carbon neutral company. The store is adorned with locally grown, organically farmed flowers and cleans green, using earth friendly cleaning products. greenROHINI is also a part of the Green Power Program via our local power company, is a participant in 1% for the Planet, donating a minimum 1% of net profits to two local enviornmental groups: Heal the Bay and TreePeople, and is an approved member of Co-op America. Clients are offered organic tea and coffee while shopping, with reusable dishes (no disposables) and they take home their purchases in biodegradable corn bags or recycled cloth totes. The company vehicle is a converted diesel, running on SVO (100% recycled vegetable oil from a local restaurant source). At greenROHINI, a family owned business, the belief is that you do not have to trade your conscience in order to produce a profit.
